Welcome to the IST 2004 Event - Participate in your future ! This year's edition of the most important European Information Society Technologies (IST) event is organised under the EU’s Dutch Presidency by the European Commission in partnership with the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs. The event will include a conference, an exhibition of research results and networking facilities for the participants. The overall themes are "People" and "Economy". This IST Event should appeal to: - Industry, SMI and SME. Businesses - Public sector decision-makers - The research community and academics - Interested citizens, including young people and students The Conference will look at ways to harness information and communication technology (ICT) to enhance the prosperity, security and quality of life for all Europeans. The Exhibition will show how ICT enables new ways of living, working together, communicating, entertaining, and ensuring that every citizen benefits from the knowledge-based economy. The Networking Sessions will bring participants together to discuss project ideas, research activities and business partnership. ENISIR ENISIR European IST Network of Innovative Applications Research and Result centers ENISIR is a Pan-European initiative to build an evolutive, integrative, co-operative and Common Model of Reference of Innovation, Research, Development, Use and Sustainable Exploitation Environments of the Information Society Technologies. ENISIR seeks in this session to open a representative discussion in cross-disciplinary thematic matrix of Interest Groups concerned to IST, EU-RTD+I and related to Government, Privacy, Services, Citizen, FLOSS and networking co-operation specially. The results and mainstreams will be the focus on the ENISIR IST-4 project proposal/s and the participants the base representative of the leadership and EU interest and impact. This event is “a must†for any researcher, industrialist or citizen interested in EU funding for information society technology research, development and applications. CONSEN Proposed Objectives CONSEN approach is focused on six or seven regional pilot projects using in-hand technologies This will enable hands-on testing and use of existing integrated governmental Contributions like Estonian government could add experience in last two years on work for e-tax Agency, e-Citizen etc. programmes in the application of this new methods of integration, development and exploitation. These will increase the quality of information and acceptance of concepts facilitating citizen and cross-disciplinary participation. The services to be provided will include economic, social, educational and recreational services and be an incentive to promote rural and community viability. This approach will demonstrate the feasibility of shared investment expanded to other regions with a minimum cost, sustainability, maximized ICT benefits and option to use the lessons learned to identify priorities. As such CONSEN results will be a major contribution to the EU IST development priorities. 2003 · BRUSSELS AMI@WORK work-shop 2-3 October First summary of the 2003-IST Milan event, presented by Giuseppe STE is to the necessity of open the RTD to news countries and giving new Innovation Ambient to the RTD. The CONSEN presentation was in this sense: CONSEN is the Open Pan-European Info-Space Community interactive for establishing an IST Innovation and RTD environment in continuous expansion. Nowadays, CONSEN active members are promoting the formation of the CONSEN EEIG (European Economical Interested Group) for having more flexibility, union, force and sectoral representation. This CONSEN EEIG formed by 40 members and 168 partners basically SME IST, creates the starting knowledge pool that acts as Technical and Service Providers, Content Producers and local integrators of the CONSEN info-spaces, projects and activities, and necessary for standards, test-bed for applications and developments and user assessment. CONSEN provides knowledge updates for digital innovators and related business initiatives. CONSEN allow SME to interact in an IST habitat sharing information, ideas, resources, works, research for creating innovation and RTD innovation. CONSEN integrates Pan-European multidisciplinary organizations, SME, RTD centres, universities, local developers, consultants and governments mainly. This wide variability and high complexity give more stability, increasing the hardness, strength and solidity of the IST community eco-system. Official European Presentation of CONSEN Open-platform On 21.07.2003 an International Workshop titled "Next Generation of Open Development platform for software and services" was held in Vilnius, Lithuania. It has been organized in conjunction with the National partnership of Lithuania in the EC Project IDEALIST and the annual meeting, organized by our partners INFOBALT - the National Association of SME in the IT sector, operating in Lithuania. The workshop has been dedicated to the assessment of the influence of the IT sector in business applications in Lithuania; to estimate the potential and the peculiarities for the participation of organizations from Lithuania in the EC FP6 programs and to present several advanced technological solutions and concepts. - CONSEN e-Centre Open-platform for an Open-development for doing The Centre for the Development of Industrial Technology (CDTI) is a Spanish public organisation, under the Ministry of Science and Technology through the State Secretary of Scientific and Technological Policy, whose objective is to help Spanish companies to increase the technological profile of said companies. CDTI is manned by 150 employees, three quarters of which is made up of engineers and graduates.
